After being featured in Sanctuary Magazine, Green Box Studio were sought out for full design and construction services for the renovations to this period home. Conflicted by the impact of construction on the environment, and with health issues to manage, a key component of the brief was to reuse and repurpose where possible, use only sustainably sourced, low VOC materials, and to significantly improve thermal performance.

Complimenting the era of the original home in retained and renovated areas, the additions allowed for a freer aesthetic expression, and the inclusion of reclaimed timber into joinery, and window screening. With a planned occupation into old age, considerations of reduced mobility, easy care and low maintenance were also incorporated into the design.

Being creatives themselves, the clients fully immersed and engaged in the process, researching and suggesting materials and finishes, and creating a truly personal and truly loved home.
